The BMW M2 is one of the best high-performance sports cars in the brand’s lineup. It combines turbocharged six-cylinder power, great handling, and a compact body. It is one of the best modern driver’s cars, but like all modern BMWs, the M2 uses a drive-by-wire throttle pedal with restrictive factory mapping.

The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller is the best plug-in BMW M2 aftermarket mod that removes all throttle mapping restrictions by recalibrating the drive-by-wire signal. It connects to the pedal position sensor and eliminates throttle lag. You can fine-tune your M2’s throttle the way you want with Pedal Commander®’s 4 modes (Eco, City, Sport, and Sport+) and 36 settings. Plus, the built-in Anti-Theft feature allows you to disable the gas pedal from the app, adding an extra layer of security.

WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

However capable the BMW M2 is, it still uses a drive-by-wire throttle system that is restricted from the factory. Instead of a mechanical cable between the gas pedal and the throttle valve, electronic sensors and actuators move the throttle blade when you press the gas pedal. The process is intentionally delayed, and manufacturers keep it delayed to meet emissions targets and better efficiency, even though the M2 is a performance car, and to make the car suitable for a wide range of drivers. This is throttle lag, and it is especially annoying in a car like the M2.

The M2 offers different driving modes, and some of them may improve throttle response, but none can completely eliminate it. On top of that, you may want a more dynamic throttle response while still keeping the comfortable suspension or steering settings. This is where the Pedal Commander® throttle response controller comes in. It is the ultimate fix for throttle lag, and the best plug-and-play aftermarket upgrade for your BMW M2.
